WHAT TO PACK
Participants will receive a white t-shirt & white draw-string bag
CARE PACKAGES: Please bring items for TWO additional drawstring bags you will receive on August 1st at the hotel to gift to youth participating in the humanitarian project at the Olympic Reunion Center. Consider a school t-shirt, socks, toothpaste, chap-stick, toiletries, USA item, word search puzzle book, pens, school supplies, etc.
EVENTS AND OFF DAYS: Plan to dress down for events and "off" days. Wear USA apparel and be proud at events, but do not flaunt any jewelry or watches. Wear casual clothes and comfortable shoes for touring Rio. Consider a wrap-around money belt to wear under your clothing (@ $20 at Amazon). Consider a drawstring bag that you can wear in front for a long sleeve shirt (night) or bug-sprat or a water bottle, etc. Usually, you will not be at your apartment for a majority of the day.
TOUR DAY - AUGUST 4: Hiking shoes or good tennis shoes, water bottle (at least two), snacks, bathing suit, Brazilian currency for a snack or sandwich, camera, light jacket or long sleeve shirt, towel (if you plan to SWIM or sit on a beach). See details with travel information below.
HUMANITARIAN DAY - AUGUST 9: Your Olympic t-shirt should be worn at the Olympic Reunion Center (ORC) during the humanitarian program activities along with shorts and sneakers. Bring a change of clothing: Dress (business) attire must be worn for the evening cocktail dinner (gentlemen: shirt and tie, / women: dress).
VOLUNTEERING & VISITING OLYMPIC REUNION CENTER: Moderate dress attire should be worn when volunteering at the ORC (gentlemen: button down shirts and slacks, / women: sun dress, skirt & blouse, slacks and blouse). The evening is typically "dressier" than the daytime hours. You will be informed of attire permitted for the credentialing and briefing at the Olympic Reunion Center upon our arrival on August 3.

ITEMS FOR APARTMENT AND IN GENERAL: Pillows, sheets, blankets will be provided. There should be access to a washer and dryer - consider bringing the following additional items
- towel and washcloth to shower
- towel for beach
- power adapters for South America
- mesh laundry bag
- laundry soap
- dryer sheets
- flash light
- alarm clock
- ibuprofen or aspirin
- feminine hygiene products
- money belt fitting under your clothes
- BUG SPRAY or lotion with DEETS
- sun glasses,
- passport & visa (Chinese resident) - original and paper copies
- medical insurance card - original and paper copies
- Patriot insurance card (print our email)
- PENS or pencils to record survey responses (two)
- travel pillow or, ear plugs or gum or nausea medicine for turbulence,
